After a near miss last year, Ron Clifton (Plainwell, MI) refocused and claimed the TPC title that had eluded him.
Clifton’s opening score of 80 placed in 9 back after eighteen, however closing rounds of 70 and 72 were more than enough to overtake leader and eventual runner-up Dan York (Brighton, MI).
Keeping his ball in play, along with a steady diet of fairways and greens, was Clifton’s recipe for success.
“I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road,” announced a triumphant Clifton.
He also added “Milk is for babies, when you grow up you have to drink beer.”
Defending champion Karl Nagy (Plymouth, MI) concluded his title defense with a 9th place finish.
Additional top five finishers were 3rd Steve Lawler (St Clair Shores, MI), 4th Eric Fournier (Harper Woods, MI) and 5th Louis Song (Livonia, MI).
Noteworthy – This was the largest TPC to date, with a total of 24 contestants vying for the title.
