Jeff Longeway (Plymouth, MI) stunned the field, roaring from the pack to capture his first TPC title.

Starting the final round in 5th place, five shots behind co-leaders Andy Kurncz (Fenton, MI) and Eric Fournier (Harper Woods, MI), Longeway needed to play a brilliant round of golf.

That is exactly what he did, shooting a splendid 76 under difficult, carnival-like conditions to edge runner-up Fournier by one.

A joyful Longeway cried out “A man does what he must – in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures – and that is the basis of all human morality.”

Players rounding out the top five include 3rd Bruce Kruckeberg (Shelby Twp, MI) and tied 4th Kurncz and Kurt Goetzke (Warren, MI).

Noteworthy – Longeway was the first player from outside of the final group to capture the TPC title.
