There are many things that defy logic, Coree Raden’s (Caledonia, MI) win at the 2006 TPC is one of them.
Raden, who previously won the 2001 and 2002 TPC titles, was given a multiple champion handicap penalty and not afforded a chance this year.
Unfortunately he did not realize this fact, and led wire to wire to claim a third title.
“If there exists no possibility of failure, then victory is meaningless,” stated an exuberant Raden. “Take your victories, whatever they may be, cherish them, use them, but don’t settle for them.”
This victory elevates Raden to the status of greatest TPC’er ever.
Other top five finishers include runner-up Jeff Pretzer (Macomb, MI), tied 3rd Andy Kurncz (Fenton, MI) and Ron Clifton (Richland, MI) and 5th Karl Nagy (Simpsonville, SC).
Noteworthy – Coree Raden has won three of the last six TPC’s, he was the first to win two titles, now he’s the first to win three.
